City Launch Lead
Take Masinja into a new city: sign the first shops, bring in the first buyers, and get both sides working at once.
About the Role
A city opens when enough shops are posting that a buyer opening the app finds something worth having, and enough buyers are looking that a shop keeps posting. Getting both true at once is the job. This is field work. You will be in markets and on high streets signing shops, then back at a desk working out whether the numbers hold. It is the hardest role we are hiring for and the one that decides whether any of the rest matters.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the plan for opening a city, from first shop to steady service.
- Sign and onboard the first businesses, in person.
- Bring the first buyers in, so the shops that signed up have someone to sell to.
- Work out which areas to serve first based on density, not on ambition.
- Feed what breaks back to product, because it will break.
What We're Looking For
- Five or more years in operations, field sales or general management.
- You have built something from nothing in a specific place, not managed something existing.
- Comfortable with a role that is half field work and half analysis.
- You can be persuasive with someone who has never heard of us and is busy.
Nice to Have
- Launched a market for a logistics, delivery or marketplace business.
- Deep knowledge of a city we are likely to open in.
- You speak the languages traded in day to day.
